Many times, we notice bad breath of our friends. During
chit chat, we feel their unpleasant odor coming out of the mouth. We may think
that he/she has eaten a lot of garlic or onion. Well, perio breath from your
mouth does not indicate your meal always. You can have a perio breath due to
gum disease. Now, the question is, what is the association between gum disease
and bad breath?
What are the
Symptoms of Gums Diseases?
The fundamental reason behind any gum disease is your
poor oral health. When you do not clean your mouth, gums, and teeth regularly,
you may suffer from gum disease, cavity, tooth extraction, and periodontist.
Many people do not think that their mouth needs a proper cleaning system and
hygiene care routine. Many people do not believe that there are germs and
bacteria in the mouth. People usually think that they eat clean food, then how
there may be germs and bacteria in the mouth. Well, take a reality check, when
you do not wash off your remaining food particles, they develop bacteria. The germs
from the stuck food create gum diseases.
Here are some significant symptoms of gum diseases
When your gums are not
healthy, they bleed, become swollen and tender.
When you eat anything cold
or hot, you feel sensation in your teeth, it means you have sensitive teeth
which are a gum disease.
When you have gum disease,
you feel pain while chewing.
Your gum becomes light pink
or dark red when they have any disease.
Moreover, gum disease can
create perio breath in your mouth.
Even due to gum disease, you
can lose your tooth.
Gum diseases have two stages. When the issue is not at
its intense level, dentists called it gingivitis. Therefore, the critical state
of the gum disease can create too many acute matters, for your oral health, the
dentists called it periodontitis. The initial phase of the gum disease is
reversible. However, periodontitis, the breakdown of gum tissues is,
irreversible.
Periodontitis and
Perio Breath
Perio breath caused by the unremoved bacteria and germs
of the mouth. Bad breath, also called ad halitosis. When a person does not care
about the mouth bacteria, these unwashed germs break the proteins that are
present in one's mouth. The broken proteins deliver volatile sulfur compounds
(VSCs). In the result of the volatile sulfur compounds, a person’s mouth
releases a perio breath.
The oral diseases such as gums infection or cavity can
let out the bad odor from the mouth. The intensity of the oral smell can feel
by everyone who is in front of you or to whom you are talking with.
When a dentist says about oral hygiene, it does not
only belong to gums and teeth. You need to clean your tongue as well. Many
people do not realize that there is a layer of bacteria on their tongue. With
the help of a toothbrush, you should clean your entire mouth, either it is
gums, teeth, or tongue. When you do no wash your mouth carefully, your oral
health becomes progressively worse. Thus, the results are gingivitis and
periodontitis.
Treatment of Bad
Breath
Well, the best treatment for bad odor is in your home.
You should use an antibacterial mouth wash to get rid of perio breath.
Moreover, you should examine your teeth twice a day, if there is any plaque or
food particle that exists, you should immediately brush it away or floss.
However, when it comes to medical and professional
treatment, dentists use scaling, mouth cleaning, and root planning methods. In
every method, the dentist will remove the plaque and coat of bacteria from your
teeth, gums, and mouth.
According to the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are 31.6% of people have
untreated cavities. The age of the victims is between 20 and 44. The result has
based on the case study that happened between 2013 and 2016. Although it is a
common oral disease, it can ward off.
A cavity does not
belong to a specific tooth or a part of a tooth. It can develop in any tooth,
even in a wisdom tooth (if you have any). Therefore, I have written to you some
necessary information about the wisdom tooth’s cavity.
Wisdom Teeth and Cavity
Many people do not
think about the wisdom tooth cavity. Because everyone does not have wisdom
teeth. Therefore, patients do not pay attention to their third moral tooth.
According to the study of the Dental Press Journal of Orthodontics, the dentist
recommends wisdom tooth extraction in 59% of patients. The percentage result
has based on the U.S study.
Wisdom tooth appears
in a person when he/she is between the age of 20 to 28. When it is likely to
come out of the gums, it gives you pain in your mouth. You can feel the pain in
your ear, head, and gums. However, after the age of 30, the third moral tooth
creates trouble for you. It gives you more than usual pain. In the acute ache,
dentists remove the wisdom tooth. When a third molar tooth catches the cavity,
it affects the gum, underlying bone, and tissues around the bone. Therefore,
the dentist always suggests the third molar extraction.
Well, the question is
how does a wisdom tooth catch the cavity? The answer is simple. As I have
mentioned in my many previous blogs that you should take care of your oralhealth as you care about your other body parts. When you do not brush and floss
daily, the food particles stuck in the corners, and the third molar tooth
arises in the last of your mouth, then it can catch the cavity quickly.
The remaining food
particles create germs and bacteria in the mouth, if you leave them in the
corners and sides of your teeth, they can damage your wisdom tooth and other
teeth as well.
Well, when it comes
to flossing, it is difficult to floss your corner teeth. Brushing cannot
extract all the remaining food particles from your teeth. You need flossing for
deep cleaning of your gums; however, the floss thread cannot reach to the end.
Thus, it can cause the cavity and gum disease in the third molar teeth.
Wisdom Tooth Extraction and Cavity
When you have a
cavity in your wisdom tooth, it will give an acute pain. Well, if your third
molar teeth do not catch the infection, there is no need for extraction or any
treatment. Not every wisdom tooth needs to get out of your mouth. Only painful
and damaged third molar needs extraction. If any other tooth has a cavity, the
dentist can repair it through filling. However, cavity generally requires
extraction treatment. In some cases, the dentist can repair the wisdom tooth,
if there is a minor eruption. The wisdom teeth do not play any vital role in
chewing the food; therefore, if your mouth has no longer the third molar tooth,
there is nothing to worry about. According to the American Dental Association,
only 15% of cases of wisdom teeth cavity are repairable.
Do you Want to Keep the Wisdom Tooth?
Well, every wisdom
tooth is not infected. In a very few people who have bacteria in the mouth are
the victims of third molar teeth cavity. If your corner tooth is not creating
any trouble for you, you can keep it. Even dentists do not suggest its
extraction until it gives you intense pain. You need wisdom tooth extraction when
it has a cavity.
It may be the year of the face mask, but when you
are finally able to take it off a smile is going to be priceless. There are so many ways to have a better smile
and to keep the one you have. Just like
many things teeth are undiminishable and after a certain point enamel is not
able to be added to your teeth. So
caring for them is paramount and being able to have a nice smile is something
that can be done with care and attention to detail. The reason to not keep your healthcare on the
top of your mind is simply silly. I think since we are so aware of ourselves
and dental healthcare with wearing masks that this is the best time to work on
our smile and also general dental healthcare.
One of the first things that is important is to
start right at the basics. This is that
quantity of brushing is actually a huge way to a better smile. Yes, it is
really that simple. The reason for this
is because food particles and acidic particles erode your teeth. This is what brushing helps to
eliminate.The extra brushing usually
ads more protection with the toothpaste and removes all of those unwanted
particles. This is a simple way to keep
your teeth from being eroded. What that does is cause your teeth to yellow.
The more your teeth erode the first layer of enamel
tends to disappear. When this happens it
leaves a yellow look on your teeth from the next layer that is showing. So by simply brushing you are helping the
erosion to slow or stop and to protect your teeth for a longer period of
time.I think that is the most simple
way to protect your teeth.
Now there are some habits that also help keep
your teeth safer and most likely a bit more bright as well. One simple thing you can do is to drink more
water. This is because it keeps you
hydrated and promotes more saliva being produced.Your saliva actually cleans your teeth. This is a natural way to keep the bacteria
and tartar from happening and causing your smile to darken. Now if you are able to substitute water for
your coffee and more soda then you are even doing better. Those drinks tend to erode and stain your
teeth. They are high in acid and sugar which all can make your smile less
bright. That is one easy way to change a lifestyle diet habit and actually get
whiter teeth as a byproduct.
Now another great way to get that smile bright is
to substitute one of your brushings with a whitening toothpaste.I like to substitute my night brush with
charcoal toothpaste. This is anatural whitener that has a small abrasive in
it that cleans the bad things off my teeth and promotes whitening.I am more prone to drink coffee in the
morning so I want my whitening toothpaste to come at night. This helps me to get less staining in with my
teeth and should help protect me in the long run.I know that even in my own diet I need to
drink more water and less coffee for a better smile. So stay safe and smile bright!
